Our History
Women In Need Safehaven, Inc. (“W.I.N.S.” or “the Organization”) is a nonprofit organization that is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded by Gloria Ford, who has firsthand experience with poverty.  Gloria was raised by a single mother of five children, who had no education. It was the various services that were offered to her family that kept their family sheltered, fed, job-ready, and motivated them to achieve what seemed to be the impossible. Her childhood struggles gave her the desire to graduate from high school and later college in order to overcome the adversities she knew so well as a child. Gloria now holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies.  Women In Need Safehaven was founded to give back to the community and to inspire others to succeed. Gloria believes that we are all destined for success, but that we must have faith, act on our belief, and never give up when obstacles occur.  She believes that our past does not define who we are, but it is the reason to hope and become all that we are willed to be in Christ.  Every obstacle has a purpose, and there are opportunities waiting to be discovered through our struggles. That it is God’s will for W.I.N.S. to serve the community to help transform the lives of others. This will be achieved by providing homeless, abused, and underprivileged women with children with refuge, safety, and the necessary tools and services to build a positive future.
Our Mission Statement
Our purpose is to combat poverty, abuse, and homelessness by providing families with their essential needs and the supportive services to transition into permanent self-sufficiency. We believe that we should give all single women with children, hope and visions for a better future by showing the love of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision Statement
Striving to build a world that provide permanent refuge, safety, and a future to all homeless, abused, and underprivileged women and children.
